The Raritan Township Art Gallery!

The Township has given space for an Art Gallery in the Municipal Complex to display paintings and photographs of the Township historic farms and homesteads by local artists and photographers, members of Art Venture NJ. The Art Gallery took shape by mid-February and all art work is for sale by the artist. Here is a snapshot of the wall gallery with the sign posts created by Jon Webb of the Township Public Works to guide visitors to the gallery. Other pieces are placed along the hallways.

All artwork is for sale.

Next to each painting or photograph, we have placed contact information for each artist, including name, contact info and price. We celebrate that several of the paintings and photographs have been sold!

Raritan Township Paint en Plein Air

  • 10x10 oil, $100

The Raritan Township Local Historians Committee member, Rhyta Rounds, has worked with Art Venture NJ artists to paint en plein air and photograph at various historic farms and homesteads throughout the township this past spring and summer in 2023. This project will continue at additional historic locations in 2024.

The paint en plein air event at the Carmelite Monastery was another memorable event with 15 artists in attendance! The scenic vistas, peaceful grounds of the Monastery and perfect weather were the perfect setting for our artists at this location.

Our final 2023 event was the Governor Reading House, built in 1760.
